Another suspension question...

Post by Rilux »

Hey fellas, just a quick couple questions:

I've got a set of 2" extended shackles, and want to run them with 2" lifted springs, apart from extended brake lines, what degree castor angle wedges will I require? Will the angle be different for front and rear?

Will I also need a dropped drag link? Is there anything else I need?

Also, will this allow me to run 33" tires?

It's a 92 Hilux.

Thanks,

Riley

you will need longer shockes to remember, yea u 33s will fit bt 12.5s will rub on the leafs when u turn, consider 2 in body lift to alow for more wheel travel, yea the wedges will be different but not shure about the angles i jus rewelded new spring perches on that were 50mm higher. and the bar that goes frm the diff to the chassie on the frnt will either ned to be removed or get an adjustable one i jus pissd mine off nd tryed it seems ok. been told when getting the brake lines go 4 braided to.

Does that cover it for you?

Don't need to put castor wedges in the rear as it doesn't steer. Just make sure the tailshaft won't run out of slip on down travel but i'm sure it'll be right. Drop draglink would be good and if you can afford it redrill perches and get front shaft lenghtend and when you order the drop draglink make sure it's to suit it'll take if foward about 33/35mm mine was like this when i bought it and 35's just hit. Just piss the torque rod off after a while you'll end up going hi steer i reckon. Just have a chat to the boy's at superior mick know's his stuff

if you have 2" over standard shackles in the front then you need 3 degree wedges, best bet is to get an alignment and that will tell you exactly what you need.

You wont need them for the rear.
