You could do it yourself if your mechanically minded and a good welder or you could get Adam from Rock Art Customs to do it, he's in Newcastle.

realy.. yeh i seen ur truck and his truck on the 4x4 monthly dvd..very impressive!!
if i do an SAS myself i will need an engineered certificate wont i??
ive also had an SAS priced by overkill engineering for $7500...bit to pricey for my budget..

if your going to do it yourself then id suggest speaking to an engineer first and see what he wants done for him to pass it.
no point doing an SAS conversion if the engineer doesnt like the way its done and wont sign the paperwork

think ill just start collecting parts and see how far that gets me
what diff should i use??
herd a dana 44 is easy because u dont need to turn the pumpkin around.
or should i get a different diff and flip it and all that stuff??
if i have all the parts and get an engineer to do it that wood still b cheaper right??

Hey Jarvis, we met at Wholesale Transmission Centre a couple of weeks ago, you were asking about my SAS .

Hilux (or bundera) diffs are the most popular for the conversion, due to availability of parts.
The Dana diff you're thinking of is out of a certain model of Wagoneer that had the pumpkin on the left side.
Weren't you thinking of putting a commodore engine in yours too ? If you were going to change the drive line completely, you could go for a hilux (or similar) transfer which has the output on the other side. It might work out more expensive than getting the diff swapped over though.
I reckon it's worth spending the cash to get someone to do it. If I tried doing it myself it would still be in parts :lol:

work out the price difference between doing it yourself and just paying someone to do it and supply the parts..
work out if the time and hassle is worth the price difference and decide..
9 times out of 10 id rather just pay someone to do it for me...
but im lazy :D
