hey guys im a newbie to this forum and i have a 60 wagon and im currently rippin the diffs out to do a spring over conversion. just wonderin if any of you had done it and could tell me how much angle the pinion of the diffs need to be set at as aposed to stock...front/rear? and also whether the tail shafts need to be lengthened,if so how much...front/rear.

hi have a soa 60 but i got the diffs already done and just bolted them it

as for springs etc all stock and i didn't need to do anything with the the tailshafts

the front must be kept stock, or you will mess up your castor. the only way you can move it is to cut and rotate your knuckles. but most of the time you can get away with out doing it. (saggy old stock springs)

do you meen you dont have to cut the diff?
would there be to much angle on the shafts if ya didnt?

Depends how saggy your front springs are, I've got a 40 with SOA, front springs were that saggy they started to invert, have put in a set of 2nd hand front springs and the front has lifted approx 1". Now have to get 60 series double cardan front drive shaft and get it lengthened as the front uni angle is stuffed. No cut and turn done, may even need castor wedges under the spring packs as well.
'78 40 series SOA, Pwr Steer, 4WDiscs, 38" Swampers. Ext W/base, 4wdicsc, Metal-Tech Cage, race seats/harnesses etc etc.
'88 60 series diesel.

The C&T procedure depends much in your lift .. with flat spring and SO you are getting aprox 6" of lift ..

I recomend C&T but know many persond that drive and use the cruisers SO without it ..

Usually you rotate from 8 up to 12degrees .. depending on your exact setup ..

In my case with 2.5 OME and SR rotate 12degrees .. and feel I get little short of caster .. anycase.
