sounds like a sticky relay but i didnt think they had seperate relays for each window , then again i havnt looked for any in mine

does your drivers window go up by itself or is automatic when you push the button right down

pull the trim off and check the power on the reg. With a multimeter. Play with the switches and see what happens! That way you can start to work out where ur problem lies

there are no seperate relays for each window.. its all controlled by the black box in the drivers door.
my drivers door does the clunking thing (which is the worm drive on the motor slipping over the gear) because the window mechanisim is shagged and stiff, and this seems to confuse the black box occasionally. (dont let it keep doing the clunking thing as it gets worse untill the gears are stuffed)

make sure the window is free, and actually fully reaches the top of its travel (have somebody push it up while you operate the switch)

if i'm reading you right the winding mechanisim (thing with arm that pushes window up) and/or rubber seal is stuffed. also is the window surround damaged? as if it is bent it will also make the window stiff.
