boat trailer change to 6 stud

i have a boat trailer for a small tinny and was wondering if anyone knows an cheap and easy way of changing the hubs it has now(just holden 5 stud) to landcruiser 6 stud so i can get a bit more ground clearance by putting an old set of 35 claws i have under it and so i don't have to take an extra spare tyre.

Just go to somewhere that sells trailer hubs, even Superchaep will do it, and buy a set of 6 stud hubs. The bearings are common, being either Holden or Ford. Change the hubs, then put the new wheels on.

i would sugest that you pull one of the hubs & take it with you as from what i have seen Holden hubs can use the standard bearing or the SL bearing if useing a large axle

Hubs are as above but you may need to spring the axle over (if not already) and change the gaurds to fit the 35s

Larger tyres means you'll have to back further into water to offload the boat and fit larger guards.
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.

doesn't worry me to back it in further it's only a three meter tinny so you can almost throw it in. i used to use it as a car topper but i don't have a canopy to suit my tray now that i've changed it a bit. tyres should fit in guards with a soa conversion and maybe some blocks to get it to sit level on my cruiser.
