Hi all Im after a tail shaft spacer to connect between the diff and tail shaft. Has anyone had one made up for an NJ swb or that may fit an NJ. If so can I grab a number of you who made it for you.

i would say any local engineering shop would be able to make you one up. all they need is the outside dia and the pitch circle diameter of the bolt holes.
i would suggest that the holes in the spacer are made size for size to bolt dia and pitched in the dead centre of the spacer. this should keep the spacer nice and balanced.
make sure the longer bolts are high tensile grade 8.8 min.
probably easier to drop the shaft out and take it round there for them to measure up.

sounds logical, my mistake.J Top wrote:There is slightly more to a spacer as it needs to have a recess to locate the ring in the drive shaft flange and it needs the same ring to go into the diff flange. The bolts really are for clamping and the rings are for trueing the shaft

Bit of a rehash of an old thread here - but has anyone have any luck finding an off the shelf spacer since this post was first created?
Was looking at mine today to track down an oil leak which was coming from the output shaft seal and noticed how far out the prop shaft is sitting (approx 50mm). I do have access to the tools required to make one but would prefer an off the shelf item to save me the hassle.
As an afterthough - Does anyone know exactly how far the shaft of the sleeve yoke should fit into the extension housing of the transfer case?
