coil lenghts

Post by NICK »

almost finished the coil rear in my truck, i did plan to run 5inch GQ coils but i think they maybe too short.

to those that have coils, how long are coils unloaded, and what is the distance coil plate to coil plate at ride height.

Mine's a little heavier than yours nick, but compressed mine are 450mm. They're 4" Kings 80 series rears, medium duty. If i were doing it again i'd go with soft duty as although they are awesome onroad, they're a touch stiff offroad.

Nick you need to lower your top mount. Get it below the chassie not above it.

Im using dead stock 93 disco rear coils mounted below the chassie.

I think you are going to find your runner will have real bad body roll with how far inboard you are mounting your coils.

i have been thinking this over the last day or 2 and think i might mount them under the chassis.

at ride height the coils need to be 500mm long, so from what jeremy said i may be able to use 5in 80's coils.

You could use a spacer nick, i'm using 35mm spacers, i think they're like 30 bucks each or something. You'll definatly need to tie them in then but i'm guessing you're already doing that. I hate to think how floppy mine would be if they wern't tied in
