1UZ Sump

Post by Grublux »

I have purchased the rear bowl sump from castlemaine rod shop for my 1UZ conversion into a hilux and I am looking for some photos or ideas on what people might have done 'baffle wise' to stop all the oil flowing away from the pick-up when on a down-hill slope.
Thanks

I haven't done anything, when going down STEEP hill my oil pressour goes real low, as soon as you give some gas its back again.

Did you workout your dip stick mate?

What needs to be done to the dipstick? I just put a rear sump on mine and used the dipstick that came with it... is there something wrong with this?
went there dressed up, came back messed up

The Castlemaine Rod Shop Sump is about $700 from memory and they modify your pick-up for you.

I had an external tube for the dipstick going into my original sump (1UZ from a Celsior) so the tube needed to be cut to the right length so as the dip stick would sit at the right depth when put through the hole in the block at the back

Cut dipstick tube

And the dipstick sitting in it's final resting place
