1750cc Vitara bottom end?

Post by cossie1 »

Hi,
looks like the reason why my Holley carb conversion didnt gain anything is due to a tired engine.. so ...

Having looked at the Suzisport website i see that this is a fairly common conversion. By looking at previous dealings with Suzisport, they seem to be not the most economical/reliable of companies to deal with. (and $1750 seems a bit excessive)

I also note that Carbusters in VIC do some sort of conversion as well.

Beofre I go ahead with contacting companies (and seeming it this time of the year), can anyone tell me how much I SHOULD be paying for this conversion?

Any companies that would have the short blocks in stock? Is the conversion worth it or is it better to just get a reconditioned engine and add a supercharger later on?

Thanks for you help in advance

I do not recommend the 1750 conversion , nor could you buy one from suzisport. that is all .

Yes tell us more, no need to bag vendors but I was thinking of this and would like to know if there is a "problem" with the big bore kit from suzi sport or just if you buy the short block?

1750 bottom end...

Having owned half a dozen early Vitaras, the thing that springs to mind is the problem that these blocks have with cracking. I would be worried that it would be more succeptable to cracking if you remove even more metal from it.
