1.6 into 1.3

Post by zook7177 »

I have searched and read a hell of a lot, but i am putting the carby 1.6 into my very worn out zook. The little 1.3 just dont cut it anymore, i would rather the carby as is easy to repair in the bush. What i am after is :
1 a 1.6 carby motor
2 the best place to get the adapter kit
3 any extra info or little problems people came up against and how you got over them.....

I know about the exhaust, fuel pump, starter motor issues aswell as the alt and water pump pulley change

Is there anything else, you guys are the experts help me out before i do it

Thank you
Rob

yes its been discussed to death the 1.6 mpfi dont brake down and u wont have any issues, for an extra bit of stuffing around it is well worth it and u will kick urself for not doing it earlier. as for adaptors pm bent on here he has the best and cheapest adaptors in aussie.

fitting a carby motor will ensure that you have to repair it in the bush.... over and over again.

Carby vitara motors are pretty much the same price as efi now as they are hard to find. If you think you can "fix" a carby in the bush, you'd be able to fix an efi system in your sleep - they're about 10000 times simpler.

BenT for the adapter kit.

You don't need to do anything with e pulleys or fuel pump if you put a whole vit motor in.

If you are building a hybrid or only get a short block you will have to deal with the pulleys.
