Question about alternator brackets

Post by N*A*M »

Are the alternator brackets the same between the 1L and the 1.3L? Are there other compatible brackets (Vit, Swift, Barina etc...)

Just want to put in a bigger alt and want to build the brackets before ripping all of the existing stuff out.

I've just put in an Odyssey dry cell battery.

the alternators are totally different, so I assume the brackets are? hope you know the one litre is external regulated, and 1.3 is internal, so some bypassing of the regulator and rewiring will be needed. I will try to check my old one litre junk tomorrow , see if anything is same, christover

The pulleys and offsets can be different, but can usually be swapped no hassles..

I found the best alternatior for the 1.6 is the EFI 1300 one - easy access to brushes and all that

Dunno... if I find a nice water crossing to wash all the mud off i'll tell you ;D

it'll be higher than the carby 1.6 I'm pretty sure, due to having all the electronic stuff to run like Injectors high pressure pump and power windows and all.

I'll have a look tomorrow morning for badges.

It's been enough to keep my 180W stereo, 130/100 headlights plus spotties going fine, even if I don't start the car for a fortnight at a time sometimes.
