Good luck! - I Don't think you'd find anything like that.

I think you'd be better getting the 55 spline welded onto the 75 shaft and use the 55 uni.

Engineers hate cut steering shafts, but if you had a professional welder do the job, and it was subject to and x-ray and MPI examination there's no reason why it wouldn't be acceptable to an engineer.

Sorry for the high jack but are you doing a 60 series power steering conversion? As I am just about to do one on mine.

The other option is to get the 55 shaft turned down and resplined and use a 75 uni.

You will b hard pressed finding 1 off the shelf as its a steering specific uni not a normal uni joint as per driveshafts. Is there a shaft that fits between the 2 ? as its easier to use stock uni's each end with the shaft having different ends to suit. Or use a steering shaft of the same vehicle fitted to the column.

It's not the uni that's the problem, its the yokes - judging by spline size, I'm guessing the 55 uni has a larger overall diameter AND a larger cap diameter, so the uni basically wouldn't function even if it could be made - It would bind because the velocities are different for each yoke, but in any case, ther're wont be any sort of part number for it. Just my guess.

If both unis (75 and 55) are the same OD and use the same cap, the yes, hardy spicer or someone will be able to sell you a uni, and your're away.

I replaced the steering uni in my G years ago with an in stock item from spicer. Merc wanted $850 for a steering shaft - one $40 uni and I was away - never given any trouble since!

I still come back to talking to your engineer and splicing the shaft as the easy way around the problem.

ended up getting a 75 steering column today nice and cheap. This has two uni's, 1/2 of one has the smaller 75 spline and 1/2 of the other has the 55 spline - both have the same diameter end caps. So i took the two yokes to a drive shaft guy today and he's going to check he can get the correct size uni to fit it all up tomorrow, will see how we go.

Sounds like you're on a winner there.
