do it yourself with one of these kits and a GPS.

the kits do work aslong as you soldier them together correctly.
jaycar make a heep of kits that are very handy, and can cut A LOT of the cost off of things.
i know the kits work as the guys at rslibertyclub.org use them.
th kit alters the signal between speedo sensor and the speedo.
last i knew the engineer would test the vehicles speed and compare it to a gps ?

that Would also work, but how accurate are the standard speedos with standard tyres? ADR states that a speedo can be upto +/-10%
GQ's are fitted with an electronic speedo, why not take advantage of it?
the jaycar kit can also be calibrated at anytime, no need to buy extra cogs each time you change tyresizes. not to mention the diameter variation found between different tyre brands.

Is there any way to find out how many teeth on the cog for a 4.2 diesel GQ with 4.1 diffs with out pulling it out and counting?BIG GQ wrote:Have you just fitted bigger tyres or something????????

What's the difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know and I don't care.

Easy but messy. I've pulled mine out when I took the transfer case out but it is much easier to ask online than get under the car and get covered in oil. Don't think there will be one low enough for 37s though.matto wrote:its very easy to pull out but for $50 that jcar kit sounds awsome.

Hi
I put a Mark adapter in my GU and it is awesome. instructions are great but the only thing it didnt tell me was that i needed a hole saw to go through the transmision tunnel $50
Easy to set up and it gave me settings for different tyre sizes.
I did check also with GPS to tweak it.
I also used one of the Jacar adapters on my road bike which I think they may have stopped selling.
I would not have got the jacar one working if I didnt have help from another guy who tested it all out and had all the settings for me.
Jacar $50
Marks $195 plus the cost of a hole saw.
Id say Marks was well worth the extra cost for ease of installation.
Cheers
