TD42T Question

Post by macorti »

G Day,

I'm about to get a 42TD or TD42T engine, well is the turboed one from factory with its gear box as well. So I'm wondering if some mods are required in order to install it into my GQ shorty. I know that with the engine it self there myth be no drama, but I'm not sure about the gear box. So any help will be very much appreciated.

Cheers....

What you mean about a diesel spec fuel filter is the original 42TD fuel filter right?

And what's the plug relay?

alt = alternator

diesels run an alt with a vacume pump on the back of the alt. for brakes and clutch.

just saying, make sure the original one comes with the engine as they can be expensive.

Somebody told me that I will have some issues with the GU gear box, cause the transfer case lever is different at the GQ one, so it's not going to be easy to fit it into my GQ shorty, do you guys know something about it?
