Speaking of overheating (a bit off topic), i have two mates that've been doing the rounds at various dealers/mechanics/workshops this week looking for a 4.2 patrol, and every one of them have been told that they ALL have overheating problems - even the stockies. I found it a tad hard to beleive after seeing so many comp truck getting driven to the limit with no issues, but even the two guys at the local Nissan dealership said it had always been a bit of a drama (motor is too big, radiator too small apparently). I suggested a Desert Cooler or one of those flash triple-pass radiators to solve the problem, but i could be barking up the wrong tree too.

Turbo Kits
My NA 4.2 always sat at about 1/4 off cold, unless i pushed it up hills etc and it went up to a smidgen over half. I just put a new radiator in and it varies anywhere from UNDER the cold line to about 1/3 max. I reckon my thermostat is shagged. One of the GU TD42T's that came away with us last weekend had a few dramas with running hot, but not bad enough that we had to stop or anything.
