rear leafs

rear leafs
i got an 89 nf pajero LWB with rear leafs and i wanna give it 2 inch lift where can i get them from and what sort of $$ am i looking at im in melb and i currently got 2 inch body lift with wound up torsions.
hey mate,
how far wound up your torsion bars???
if u put a bigger lift in the back the front might not be able to match it...
if u have leaf springs in the rear it is cheaper just to get 2" extended shackles... unless you want to carry heavy loads but remember the new leaves are going to be harder and may not articulate as good as the standard springs with 2" extended shackles.... btw pajeros use hilux solid front 2" extended shackles... these can be brought from sanke racing and 4wd1 for $230 a pair...

hey mate, that bodylift will only be the body lift blocks and the bolts... thats pretty expensive.... dont forget that your handbrake cable may not like being 4" away from the rear brakes either....

you need longer shocks, longer brake lines, longer fuel hoses, longer battery cable, longer heater hoses, you have to make sure the clutch fan doesnt take out the lower radiator hose, you have to extend the top radiator hose, move the bullbar and rear bumper up 2" and extend the steering rod... this can be done by buying the superior engineering steering rod extender or by buying a toyota bundera steering rod from a wrecker beacuse the bundera are adjustable...

OK, I don't know about Gen 1 Paj, but for a 2" lift in a Gen 2:dans-paj92 wrote:you need longer shocks, longer brake lines, longer fuel hoses, longer battery cable, longer heater hoses, you have to make sure the clutch fan doesnt take out the lower radiator hose, you have to extend the top radiator hose, move the bullbar and rear bumper up 2" and extend the steering rod... this can be done by buying the superior engineering steering rod extender or by buying a toyota bundera steering rod from a wrecker beacuse the bundera are adjustable...
Shocks are not attached to the body - no change required.
Brake lines don't need to be replaced - you need to "feed" the front lines through the wheel arch as you lift, rears are no problem.
Fuel hoses - no problem.
Battery cable - no problem.
Heater hoses - no problem.
Top radiator hose was "stretched" during the lift, and later broke on a trip. Standard replacement hose was installed with a little thought, still going strong 3 years later.
Removed the bottom half of the radiator shroud, no problem with bottom hose.
Steering rod - loosen, lift, tighten. No problem.
Rear bumper - remove before lifting the body. Mounts were modified and re-used.
Bull bar - I paid my mechanic to lift if for me - my welding sucks.
Fuel filler hose - undo support clamp & allow to "stretch". Now have taller tank, and all is restored to normal.
Rear mudflaps - bridge body & chassis. Undo chassis mounts, lift body, booty fab back to chassis.
Transfer lever was cold-bent by neighbour (judicious application of force.)
Mechanic who performed a transfer case swap cut out the floor surround and console - until the swap I hadn't had a problem. It now requires a knack to return from 4H to 2H.
If there was anything else to do, I can't recall at the moment - I'll add things if/when I remember.
wow:P

body lift ur looking at $250 max includes poly blocks and bolts u wont have a problem with ur brake lines or anything else u just might need a oxy to bend the transfer lever a coulpe mill no big deal easy stuff for a 2" lift ur looking at bout $1300 but i think u should go with the 2" body lift and spend the rest on some 33's.
A body lift just lifts the body so u keep the centre of gravity low but with the suspension u left it.
But it all comes down to personal choice i just got a body lift ATM and im happy with it.
