Nissan Patrol gearbox input shaft mods
G'Day all,
Can anyone recommend an engineering joint, preferably in Bayswater or close by, that could shorten and respline the input shaft out of my MK Patrol gearbox?
Thanks,
Dave

It may help if you say why you'd like to shorten it as there may be an easier/cheaper way of getting the same result such as a bell housing spacer. Try Marks adaptors.

Sorry for the lack of info. I have an MK with a Chev fitted, it had a Cabstar 5 speed behind it, using a Dellows bellhousing and a Marks Adaptor from gearbox to transfer.toughnut wrote:It may help if you say why you'd like to shorten it as there may be an easier/cheaper way of getting the same result such as a bell housing spacer. Gearbox blew the input gear and damaged the cluster. So I'm looking at fitting a standard 5 speed, but all the input shafts I have seen so far are too long for the current bellhousing. I'm trying to avoid spacing the bellhousing because that will mean new gearbox mounts and possibly driveshaft mods.
I'm going to contact Dellow but I thought it might be easier to just get a standard input shaft modified.
Regards,
Dave
