black must go to negative on the titan solenoid, but what about green and white. which one is power in and power out. do I also need to put + power to one or both of these.

connect the wires and you will see. If it is 'wrong' ie out is in and in is out, swap the terminals so in is in and out is out. or you could undo the switch from your hand controller and then you will see what colour is in for in and what colour is out for out

well i put the black wire to the neg terminal on the titan then the white to one and the green to the other.
Operated the hand controller and nothing happened. If i apply 12V directly to that power in or power out terminal on the Titan the winch operates. Only problem is, it does this with out the hand controller.
