GU top mount intercooler in GQ diesel turbo

Hi,
juts wondering if anyone have put in a top mount intercooler into a gq. I have a gq with a gu airscoop already installed and I am looking at the option of placing a GU style intercooler below it.
The other option and the more available one is to get a kit of ebay and just plumb it in through the front.

Better airflow to the front of the vehicle is why I would think about the top mount option.

I know there are plenty of people such as denco and CAP doing kits but they appear to be preety rich in price for just an intercooler and piping.

would love to hear what others have done to gq diesel turbos , the best way to go and the results achieved from intercooling.

top mount heat exchanger scrapes through for emissions and production costs....efficiency for performance sux...front mount aftercooler is the way to go but is a tight fit...how much power increase do you want to achieve?....not much of opinion on water to air aftercoolers...It's 30 year old technology...the majority of new diesels on the road today are air to air as it gives the best temp drop....

if going front mount, what should be the size core to put in without affecting the radiator cooling of the vehicle, it will never be no street machine but there must be a size point where bigger doesnt make any more differnce or minimal difference?

tomahawk fitted a 600 x 300 x 75 pwr cooler to mine....

works well mines on a gu which there is more work involved in fitting it under the head lights, however gq are alot simpler....

weeman's core was a tight fit...seems to be working good...EGT's are low...boost lag is acceptable...weeman's application has a revised turbo spec and minimal fuel rate increase...depends on how much KW increase as to how much heat your asking your cooling package to get rid of...

Mine is a cooler from ebay, 280x300x75mm. Seems to work good with a thermo fan mounted underneath it. It sucks through the cooler. Its putting out 95kws at the wheels with 13psi on 35's and 4.1 diffs.
