I always wondered what it would be like with X-links at both ends. It looks nice. Any more pics and details? How high has the suspension lifted it?

Everyone else complains about the onroad handling of the Xlink if its not locked out. What have you guys done or not done to make this thing drive so great on road?

Heavy rate coils, light weight car? Then again the wider diffs would then place more leverage on the springs possibly making it worse.

im keen to know also, i really cant see it driving great on the road unretianed with 1 x-link let alone 2.

can i also add what was the point of fitting a x-link to the rear when the std type (i know its not std type now) setup would flex just as much if not more, especially the same setup but modded?

cheers mark

Using the right spring rate and not using a spring that is too long for the aplication. And also we spend lot of time getting all the steering geometry spot on (castor, pan hard angles etc).

We changed the rear cause the standard setup is crap and we wanted the truck to be balanced front to rear which also adds to the drivability.

So your not using the same coils/rates you usually supply on zook coil conversions?

I can see that with all the geometry correct it should drive much better than any 6" lifted 80 or Patrol with the Xlink. An XLink on its own doesnt fix any of the geometry problems the 80 or Patrol get when lifted.

Now if we could supply our own axles and buy the rest of the components as a kit that would be

Correct we set the car up from scratch with the X-link not as an after thought to get more travel so tht allowed us to get everything spot on so it drives good.
The springs aren't the same as the zook coils we used to use. unlike a lot of lifted cars we have used the shortest coil we can to reduce the roll and swaying associated with a longer spring.

CJ making a kit is very hard as everyone wants something different. We have designed this with a certain spring and height someone goes and uses different springs or puts the spring mounts on in a different spot and that can change the geometry by huge amounts makes it drive like shit then our kit gets the bad name.Even the placement for the x-link pivot is very critical to get the geometry right. The only way we could do it as a kit would be to supply everything including axle housings with everything welded on already and would have to make all the spring mounts and that only fit one way and for the amount of kits I think we would sell over the ones we fit ourselves the extra work isn't justified.
