Transferring 1.6L from NT to WT
Transferring 1.6L from NT to WT
I'd like my Sierra to be able to do highway speeds. I've spotted a 1.6L MPFI SJ410 for sale that i'd like to pinch the engine from to put in my WT. Its had the conversion done by Suziworx. I've done a bit of reading on conversions into NTs but i'm not sure what problems i'll run into trying to do the reverse to drop it into my car.
I'd like to use my current gearbox so i'll use the adaptor plate.
I guess i'll need to modify my WT engine mount rather than use the one from the NT?
Any way i can get away with not doing a body lift?
Take the fuel pump, fuel lines, wiring and ecu to put in mine?

It's a 1.0, not a 1.3 NT so I don't think it's a straight swapwant33s wrote:Straight swap. Remove the engine and mounts complete with adaptors and fit straight to WT.
The fuel lines are different so transfer the EFI ones.
Everything is prety much the same.

OK my mistake, the engine mount adaptors will need to be changed.cj wrote:It's a 1.0, not a 1.3 NT so I don't think it's a straight swapwant33s wrote:Straight swap. Remove the engine and mounts complete with adaptors and fit straight to WT.

There are members here that do kits (BenT I believe) to put a 1.6 into a 1.3 car nt or wt as well as places like lowrangeoffroad.
Put the WT body and WT axles under the already converted 1.0?
Best of both worlds then - the narrower spring spacing of the 1.0, no engine mount/engine alignment work - pretty much just remover and replace except for the spring pads on the axles.
Just an idea.
Steve.
