Seats in RRC

Post by V8 Rangie »

Question

Anyone here know what sort of sports seats fit a RRC the best with little modification?

Looking at getting some secondhand Jap inport type ones for my 1990 rangie.. silvia or FTO seats look like they have good support.

Really keen to change them soon as I'm sick of the standard seats.. just not enough support when 4x4ing

Cheers

Hey Camo, Recaro's fit nicely - father has some in his RRC, Mine are still sitting on the floor until I get around to it. There is also a brand that look very similar to Recaros - only possible problem is the side support on the bottom cushion has a metal bar which can hurt if you're not careful when you get in/out

Cheers

Thats what I'm keen on getting.. should be able to get FTO ones cheap as. Seen them in a 4x4 before and looked like they had decent support.

I'm sure I will find something to suit

Cheers

That's why I like the Vogue spec Rangies, they have armrests

Should be a simple swap, the runners on the Rangie seats are pretty simple anyway :D

Alfa GTV seats are pratically a bolt in, i have a pair in the shed that i was going to use in my 81 rangie but since i cut it into a ute i dont need the tilt function any more.
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.

Grimace you legend :) arm rest ones would work perfect as im putting in a small engel fridge to replace centre console and will need arm rest.

I will grab the better set..who cares about Josh as hes got a defender :P

Let me know when.. need them asap

the thing I find uncomfortable about them is the lack of back support and the short seat base, for me its not to do with the arm rest

You must have to have a fat arse to be comfortable in std rangie seats

I couldn't put aftermarket seats in a later model Rangie, that's sacralidge (older 'one rake suits all' ironing board jobs ion the 2 doors and early 4 doors are the exception).
