Okay,

Your final crawl ratio will be:

1st x Low Range x Diffs
= 4.1 x 6.1 x 4.88
= 122:1

So it will definately crawl like mad.

As for highway gearing, I estimate that you will be reving between 4,000 and 5,000rpms to be doing 100kms... (this is based upon what my car does with a cap g'box, 6:1 hopper, 5.12's and 34's, and what droopy pete's does with sierra g'box, 6:1 hopper, 5.12's and 33 claws)...

Something to note is that 33" claws tend to measure quite short and are probably closer to 31" so you will have to measure that to work out your speedo and road speeds.

Cheers

Well, I think it really depends on what RPMs you want to run on the highway, but it seems to me to be a good setup.

Assuming your 33s measure 32.5 (which i think is generous) you'll be spinning a little over 4200RPM at 100kph. Maybe a little on the high side so fuel economy will suffer (will be sh1t anyway) but it's right in the torque range for that engine.

BTW, crawl ratio is about 108:1 :D

Since when is 1st gear on a stock 5 speed 4.1:1?

Sorry man, I had my bling goggles on for a second and mixed my numbers up - the japanese Jimny with the 660 comes with a 4.1 1st gear...

Alas - but 108:1 is still sweet I'm thinking - particularly with the might of the 1.6 in front of it.

To be honest 108 vs. 122 is SFA difference. I was just being a jackass
