tempted to buy a lux. shano
Hey shano, i thought you learnt your lesson about V8's in 4wd's, they keep falling over or breaking things :D

steve
definately learnt my lesson. 351 clevo=broken eng mounts everytrip gone to wreckers. 350 on gas = put back on wheels by hilux gone to wreckers.

4.2 turbo diesel = allterrain. will catch up for a brew at expo if you there.
hope all goes well for you. there was a pick off your old supra powered hilux on the park office wall for a while when you drove out of camp road up the side wall half way up. excellent .....
don't hink i'm gonna get out to cruiser for expo unfortunatly. I haven't seen that pic on the wall yet.
do you still have your sticker machine?, wanna get some stickers made up for advertising soon.

Thats about all you should charge!

There is no need for an adapter harness, as the V6 engine harness meets the Hilux harness in the engine bay at the fuse box and there is about 10 wires to join together there with 3 or 4 under the dash when you put the ECU end behind the pass kick panel - about 1 hours worth of either soldering or crimping!

Just my experience when I converted mine!

I will say, I had the Toyota and Holden diagrams to work off, so it's not that simple if you don't have and/or don't understand the diagrams!
I often find it funny that unqualified people can wire an engine conversion in an hour, whilst qualified auto electricians take 5 to 10 hours depending on engine. I see this on performance car forums alot.
I could wire an engine in an hour sure, but it will look messy and be full of unused wires, and extra wires thrown on for gauges extra, instead of one neat harness, with all the relay's tucked up under the dash nice and dry.

I am not having a dig all i'm saying is you get what you pay for, and i have not had one customer of mine say i charged too much.

Also if anyone wants a receipt for tax purposes that is not a problem, I am paying tax on these jobs and harnesses

Thats fair enough! Mine was a bit messy (unused wires), but I knew what I was doing and utilised the existing equipment for each system (component) I integrated, without duplication. I see the Marks 4X4 wiring loom they sell unnecessarily duplicates certain circuits and relays in the wiring system.

I will say it's not easy if you have no experience, so don't try it if you don't know!

got my wiring loom from killa kables today and i have to say it is AWSOME. i was preparing to pay double what it cost to do and he did an excellent job. better than factory and easy to deal with.

guys if you want shit done for a good price killa is the bloke to do it. im just ecstatic with the result, neat, perfect lengths for plugs without having the engine to work with just well done. even the instructions to connect the rest up is very detailed and easy to follow.

ill definately be sending any of my other electrics their for him to hook up.

thanx killa

mate, i'm not going to comment on the loom. i don't know if it's expensive (seems it to me, but i'm not interested in putting in anything that runs a computer etc so i know i can do it myself no drama's as dizzy wire, earth straps, starter wire, and Alt wire are all that need to be lengthened/shortened). for a LS1, or a Lexus or whatever, probably worth the money.

What i am going to comment on here is what i quoted. do yourself a favor and find a good exaust joint that will do the exaust work. there are two types of people who do engine converstions. those that will DIY as much as they can, and those that want drive in, drive out service. so if you offer them to get that done at their cost, the offer will probably be taken, and after a few jobs, the exaust shop should start to look after you $$$ wise for all the business your bringing them.

turned over fine, got spark, fuel pumps run so untill i get this stupid throwout extension sorted i dont know if the engine will run properly but so far id say im looking good for a perfect run.

as for the exhaust. i recon if you get an exhaust shop in on the deal they hsould be able to look after you and prolly get you more conversions to do aswell.

ive found with mine that i have to get custom and have been turned away from 2 shops because they "dont have the resources" or "dont have the time" so if you find one that will you'll be able to help alot of people.

Yeah i agree, i have been thinking the same thing. I have an exhaust shop that we deal with through work so will be looked after price wise. And also i think it is better if the customer can drive the car away, and i know it is running spot on it when it leaves.

Haven't had one not go first attempt yet (well not because of a wiring fault anyways). Including a late model chev deisel, auto, and instruments, which AFAIK is the first one AUS. And only know of one or 2 in the states. And if it does not go i will fix it at no charge till it does.

I would also like to mention, this is now a legit buisness, so receipts can be provided.
I do mobile work in south east QLD for electrical jobs. At this stage it is weekends only, but am hoping by the start of next year i will be running this full time.
I also offer trade discounts for repeat customers.
I specialise in full re-wires in 4wd's, race cars, hot-rods, show cars whatever really.
I Am doing a twin turbo V8 supra track car ATM. It's a nice peice of gear.
