HI everyone,
Fitting a boost guage to my ln 106 lux, but not sure where to fit the t piece in to the whole system.
Ive looked at the guide on toyotasurfasn but theirs look different to mine even though i have a ct20 turbo.
Any guides or pictures of where yours are hooked in would be great.
Ive got everything sorted except this rather important bit.

Nah I dont think I have a pic of it.
I sold the Lux about a year ago.
It was simply a couple of inches of hose to slip over the barb on the intake manifold with a brass barb the same size and an olive style nylon fitting screwed into that in the end of the hose.
Sounds complicated but is really simple.

I said it goes where the rocker vent used to go into the intake manifold before the turbo was fitted. ah... just learnt to read, boost compensator. do all set ups have a boost compensator? if so can i just t piece that instead of risking metal into the intake or having to remove bits?

no you wont have a boost compensator unless you got one fitted or your running a surf injector pump. i did the same setup as ausyota, modified the the old breather fitting on the standard intake manifold, very easy with a few clamps, hose and fittings. definalty boost there, my gauge doesnt even go into vac at an idle.

ON mine it has been capped off with a rubber cap and a pipe clamp?
If so then it looks like an excellent place to fit it. Is there an easy way to down size the tube that would fit this fitting to the tiny tube of the boost guage?

yeah thats the one, i just used a piece of pipe about 2 inches long clamped it to the original breather fitting on the manifold, put the fitting that came with the gauge on the end of the boost gauge line and push the fitting into the open end of the piece of hose on the manifold and clap it in there. worked for me but it depends what gauge you have you may just have to find a different fitting.

My new question is is my turbo stuffed.
I didnt mean to snub the people already giving me help hence why i invited their comments on the new question.

IM concerned that my CT20 turbo on my LN106 HIlux 2.8L 3l Diesel is not working i.e no boost.
I fitted a boost guage this afternoon and its not registering any movement under revs - if anything it is creating a tiny vacume.
The picture below indicates where i fitted the boost guage.
I removed this bung and the boost gauge and gave it a rev, at idle you can feel a pulsing air flowing out (like a mini exhaust would feel) When reved the amount of air comming out reduced but didnt stop completely.
PLEASE TELL ME IM WRONG.
If you cant tell me im wrong advice would be great...

Ok so back to topic.
Hooked up the guage again (flea bay purchase - second hand speco boost/vacuume guage) unfortunately it shows a -4 psi reading instead of 0 which confuses things a bit but the change should indicate boost.
On the advice given I went for a drive rather than just revving it in the driveway. Found a big hill and flogged its guts.
On the up side we have boost! on the down side it maxed out at about 5psi at 3000+ revs uphill.
I thought normal for a ct20 was about 9psi.
if 9 is normal... the turbo is working but not well? or do i just need to wind up the boost from standard?
Could the guy who fitted it (home job) have resricted it somwhere by mistake?

when the engine is turned off or at idle the guage shows -4 psi or a vacuume of 4psi.
At maximum boost its showing 2psi.
2 - -4 = 6 psi. but thats assuming the guage still has an accurate spring rate. maybe this is the problem.
