I've got them. I love them, in fact they're probably the best all round tyre i've used. Sticky as on road and off.
My only complaint - which means little because of what they are - is they're loud. They make a high pitch ripping type sound on the road (depending on the surface, sometimes it's crazy loud, other times not too bad), as opposed the humming sound the Claws I had made....

This is another opinion.
I do believe some tyres are better than others. But price isn't necessarily a good indicator.

Weekdays - Prado GXL D4D with some stuff

they have improved the development of M/T branded tyres by adding 2 extra plys going on in different angles, where as normal belts just go up & down M/T have added these cross ply belts, to add to side wall protection & limmit ripping & tearing, but as far as staking goes,im yet to see a sharp stick that has a brand preference, I think every brand can be subseptable to side wall staking of some sort.

Did you figure that out for yourself, or did you read the bit where they saidblkmav wrote:How very scientific-Scott- wrote:That is one opinion.udm wrote:you could easily cut a sidewall on any tyre, its not a brand thing...thunder wrote:has anyone sliced a sidewall yet.....

I didn't post it to pick on any particular brand - I posted it purely as an alternative opinion. Apparently, you were offended by that opinion.very little 'scientific' tests were done.
Are you offended purely because of their lack of "scientific" approach, because they preferred the MT/R over the BFG, or because you agree with udm that all tyre sidewalls are the same?
Or does rolling your eyes help you feel superior?
Hmmm. Nope. Doesn't work for me.
Having done about 35000k on my 285s i recon they aren't any where near BFG Muds in the Mud . definately a great on road tyre and good in the sand but in mud.... if BFG muds were a 10 i would give MTZs a 7 also wear is a problem initial tread depth is 15mm compared with 17mm for the BFGs i am down to 10mm now

I have a set of 35x12.5x15's in the shed, I want to go to 37's but they don't come in 37's, the 36's and 38's are 15.5 wide, does anyone think the 38's would be alright for a daily driver??, probably not, but they would fill my wheel arches just fine, 35's are looking abit small.Tom0 wrote:

It was the rolling eyes. You didn't actually offer an opinion, merely re-stated something in the link. I was hoping for something a little better than that from you, sir. A man of your education.blkmav wrote:Apparently you were offended by my alternate opinion-Scott- wrote:I didn't post it to pick on any particular brand - I posted it purely as an alternative opinion. Aha! I see! Yes, I agree. It was this bit that threw me:udm wrote:-Scott-, just to clarify, i didnt say all sidewalls are the same, my point was just that you can stake any brand sidewall if the conditions are met.
I believe that some sidewalls cut more easily than others. But I do agree that no sidewall is stakeproof.udm wrote:...easily cut a sidewall on any tyre...
Thats odd that the importers haven't don't supply the 37 mtzs but will supply the claw in 37s. Send them an e-mail and see if they can import you a set. This is the part number 5277 for 37X12.50R17LT MTZS.Hoppy11 wrote: I have a set of 35x12.5x15's in the shed, I want to go to 37's but they don't come in 37's, the 36's and 38's are 15.5 wide, does anyone think the 38's would be alright for a daily driver??, probably not, but they would fill my wheel arches just fine, 35's are looking abit small.

I have history with doing sidewalls
I've had a set for just over 20,000 ks now
Have sliced 1 sidewall at cruiser, and a mate has sliced one of his at ormeau. But that sort of stuff comes with 4wding i guess. They have had a hard life so with only the one sidewall i'm not complaining...
Other than that i'm very happy. They were very quiet onroad when i first got them, but if you use em for what they are designed for that will probaly change. I have a few chips from offroad use and as a result are pretty noisy onroad. For the grip they offer offroad it's worth it.
There is alotta companies that make 37's for 15 inch rims, just not Mickey Thompson, I'm just wanting to use MTZ's.SIM79 wrote:If you want a huge range of 37s you will need 17inch rims, there are only a couple of brands that make 37s for 16inch rims and even less of 15inch rims.Hoppy11 wrote:

Im going to put the 35's on tomorrow, just wondering about tyre pressures for on road , the Hummer replica weighs 2040kg, evenly split, 1020kg each end, what sorta pressure would you guy's recommend, I usually run 32 in the X-terrains.
