GQ steering wheel .....wanted

Post by KRI55 »

Hey again,
I'm chasing after a grey Gq steering wheel in really good nick.
Mine is a 90 model, but anything upto 97 should fit.

I don't mean to be scabby, but the cheaper the better, and the closer to redcliffe(north brisbane)the better.

Thanx
James. :D

I take it you mean a sports steering wheel.
Won't they look a bit odd?Cause there a lot smaller.
Are they better or worse for driving?

I got an Urethane one from Supercheap $80
Boss $65

Looks OK, drives OK, a bit heavier when tyres deflated to 15psi.. but...

Looks fine, looks better, drives just as good, less work when on road, more as God says with 15 or less in the black rim protectors.

Cool. If it looks good I'll sell KRI55 my steering wheel and put the money towards a better one :)

Actually, that won't do... it says "Ford" on it.

Yea Im about 6'1 round, and high.. can you see the gauges, well ... sorta. You can see the speedo up to about 30kph, then from about 140 onwards.

Depends how you have the steering column tilted, mine is adjustable.

I have marked dots on the instrument panel with a texta, so I know where the important speeds are, 40,50,60,70,80,90,100,110...

ok,i drive with the tilt right up.
Is there any chance in that position of seeing the speedo with the sports wheel?
What sort of nick is your original steering wheel in,and how much would you want for it?

1) maybe, depends on how you sit, sometimes if I kick back a little yes I can see the whole thing. but other times when I sit right forward, nope.

2) $25 + post.

what condition is it in?

Mine is falling to pieces at the top...just wearing away from 280k's.

How much do you reckon postage would cost?

Could you arrange a c.o.d. if i buy it?
Might grab that GQ factory handbook/manual as well if you still have it.

Would it be asking to much for you to post a pic of the wheel, mainly the top of it where your hands go?

Sorry about all the q's,and thank you for your patience and help.

Cheers james. ;)

had a look at it, its in good cond, its a 12yr old wheel, its got a bit of wear, the actual rubber is spinning on the metal of the wheel

you are probably better off with the Autotechnia one.. gettin a good GQ one could suck

i'll get photos tomorrow in daylight.
