Hilux gearbox's

Post by 82 Lux »

Are the petrol and diesel gearbox's in the LN/RN65's the same?? G52, spline counts, transfer cases etc??

I have an old G52 box with a 21 spline output shaft , 4th gear gone bush, and another G52? ( bundera?) box that has a 27 spline output shaft. Is there an adaptor available to make my transfer case fit to the splines on the new box??

The extension housings fit OK.

Or is it a case of changing the output shafts in the box??

i know you can get adaptors to adapt a 23 or 26 tooth shaft to the 21 output on a G52 (ive got one as part of the adaptor to bolt the R151F to the G52 transfer for my surf swap)

But 27 tooth? Dunno....

The bundera box may be different to the lux box's (even with the same designation) as i think they ran a cruiser style transfer case (offset rear output). Hence an off-the-shelf adapter may not be available. May be able to swap output shafts for a hilux one?
