Depending on the exact issue an alternative is to pull it apart and free the brushes.
Mine stopped charging last time I was at Landcruiser Park, after pulling it out and apart found one of the brushes was stuck in so a quick ten minutes of pushing, prodding and some cooking oil it free'd up.
Slapped it back together and good as new :)
Still going sweet 3 months later

If the brushes are actually worn a new set can be gotten cheap at most motor rewinding mob's. easy to fit.

I have got a spare in my garage in Seaford amongst springs wheels and dashes. Find out what they are from the wreckers and make me a half reasonable offer and it could be yours!
Take me to the Bush!
