A while ago now i smashed up my rear lights in the rear step and mangled the step too. That step is way too solid to bend back into any normal shape and would be a waste as the lights are no longer there. I was just wondering what you guys have on the rear of your F310's instead of the original chuncky step. Also i have a 50mm BL so any pics of spacers you used to lift it would be great!

i havnt done it myself but one of the local Fez'es around here has a chunk of 100mm X 50mm U channel to replace the original rear bumper .... She (the Owner) has mounted it as close to the body as she can and it dramatically improves departure angle .. solid as f^%8 too , if i can ever find a set of body tail lights for mine im going to do the same conversion.

i have just done the body tail lights whihc is why im looking at a rear bar but im not sure i understand what you mean by U channel mounted to the body?

There wil most likely be no pics becuase the forum crapped itself and were lost did find this post fro him about his front bar, but couldn't find his post on his rear bar, he said in this post he used C channel to build it.

did they remove the original round tubing that was supporting the original bumper or is that still there??
how is that mounted to the car is it directly to the body or is there a bracket to something else?

I use to have the same problem with my rear bumber but i have found out that same older Feroza had from stock smaller bumper so i searched and bought them. Now i hardly smash them on my trips but when ever i have a problem with them i always have a hummer with me

Hello Newtothefourbeworld,
I did not remove the original round tubing that was supporting the original bumper as it might effect chassis integrity of the Feroza. Of course as can be seen, I replaced the original bumper with a C channel. Take note that I did a 2.5" body lift on my Feroza so the body is lifted from the chassis and this will also affect body to bumper distance.

Monmendoza that bar is excellent- you don't normally see that quality of work unless it's a pro doing the job for their own rig.

Hello MightyMouse, Im not sure If I understood what you meant. They did not actually do anything to the chassis except chop it a little bit to be able to attached the rear bumpers via 4 bolts. (2 per side). They also remove the plastic end of the old bumper and screwed it to the new one. The new bumpers did improve departure angle though because it is higher than the old bumper ( because of the 2.5" body lift) and reduced the Feroza lenght by about 2" compared to the old bumper.MightyMouse wrote:How did you strengthen the ends monmendoza ( its a good job ) ?

The rear tailights in the body is standard here in the Philippines. Daihatsu
did not release a Feroza model in the Philippines with tailights in the bumper. An original tailight here in the Philippines cost about US$70.

MM, from my reading he hasnt had a problem with the corners b4 so i assume he hasnt strengthened them but the shop simply bolted them in place.
phraze, in Aus the side panels where the lights are for the other guys are usually filled with blanks. I also have replaced these and here you need to source daihatsu ROCKY rear lights whihc will fit in the same spot. All you need them is to re-wire the old lights to the new location and buy a plug and away you go!
