How do you go about hosting a 4x4 event? insurance? getting ppl to come? Have massive property northern rivers n.s.w and want to host events

Your best bet would be to ge in contact with a club already running events and offer them the use of your property.

hey buddy, the 4wd association is currently looking for a place to host the 2009 4wd jamboree....

This might be a easy place to start as there will be alot of people through the association who will find out and attend this type of event...

Not sure if you have been to any jamborees but if you want more info let me know...

they als want it within 3 hours from sydney, to make setup easy, this place sounds like its closer to the NSW/QLD boarder

yeah get in contact with the local clubs. As a member of the Gold Coat 4wd club, i'd be more than happy to have access to another property close by.

further to that, cause it came across a bit off..... I would be happy to take it to the club should you need help in preparing for an event, including producing tracks, etc.

First stop should be your local council to see if you can get DA approval for an offroad event.

this is true.

and remember always assume your numbers are smaller.
if you were to say it was 2 x 1 day events and not a camping thing you might reduce your needs for somethings.
but toilets etc will need to be provided.

bottomline is once approved they arent going to check, so 1 or 2 small white lies wont hurt.
this is my personal view, and not that of a council officer ;)

Yes, you need an event insurance, should always be on top of the list when it comes to organizing an event.

Where to start!!! MASSIVE FUNDS for MARKETING Sponsors Sponsors Sponsors Sponsors

Find someone who has run them in the past and use them to organise it

Property owner needs to get Local Council for approval, Insurance for public liabilty, have facilities to cater for the crowd eg Tolilets, showers if camping allowed

Event itself needs lots of work, build tracks, have safe spectator areas, secure competitior area, car parking, road access and traffic controll , Event Manager, Competitor Manager, Track marshalls, Score keepers, Food stalls and a co-ordinator to look after them just to start then you have to have a business plan to set the things in place to make sure it can make the distance and not send you broke in the first event.

Start small and build it from there.
Tuff Truck is a great example but I'm sure it really had some hard times along they way, but you learn from each event and make the next one better.

I have run a test track for many years at an event that is doing it's 10th year and it's going to the best yet and the track is 5 times larger from when we started
