DYNO SHEETS Duramax GU, NEW MOTOR ARRIVED 23/4/10
That is possibly the funniest thing I have read on outers ..heathgu wrote: It is being setup for drag racing
I have got the race weight down to 2.2 tons.
Cheers Heath
Its funny because despite the weight your times are realistic ..
" If governments are involved in the covering up the knowledge of aliens, Then they are doing a much better job of it than they do of everything else "
We have a drag et calculator on our dyno. With your weight and horsepower , you should do a 12.94 1/4 mile with 105 mph trap speed.
Lets see how good it is.
Good luck with it.
Now everyone wants a duramax

Ball bearing turbo upgrades for factory turbo vehicles. Got a diesel question just ask.
Home of the twin turbo shorty and many 150rwkw+ patrols.

Hydro boost
Heath,
Good work there mate and good to see you got it running. What did you do to get vacuum for your brakes. Did you throw on another alternator with an vac pump on that? I know the earlier LB7 had vac pumps but the LBZ certainly dont and hydroboost is not very popular in OZ vehicles. You must be pretty stoked to have it going now?
Cheers Gaz

Show me the money..SHOW ME THE MONEY
I nearly veered off the road due to trying to pick up my jaw off the floor of the zuk, after you overtook me & my mates in our zukis, & gave this thing it a squirt up the hill towards woombye just past big pineapple on the highway a while back...
very impressive.
but i guess if you can afford the conversion...
very impressive.
hehe, i think everyone always has. Until diesel hit $1.75Dzltec wrote:Now everyone wants a duramax

All the gear, No idea...
i think you will find it will be quite fuel effieicent, as it is in a truck thats alot lighter the the original,Dee wrote:I nearly veered off the road due to trying to pick up my jaw off the floor of the zuk, after you overtook me & my mates in our zukis, & gave this thing it a squirt up the hill towards woombye just past big pineapple on the highway a while back...

Calculator's mean nothing in my book.
Depending on suspension/tyre's/tyre size/trans ratio/track condition/style or type of launch etc etc.....
But my guess would be 13.7 105mph

I've found the calculators to be spot on for power if looking at the mph, it may mph a bit higher with excessive tyre spin, and if the 60 foot is slow it won't make the times but the drag calculator is pretty good in my books if the vehicle weight is right I'm betting Dzltec has it right.
Cheers

Let me know when you go, we are getting our trucks ready for a day out, my Gen3 turbo is good for similar power at the wheels 325 kW is 435 Hp. and when the clutch arrives we have a 4.5 turbo that killed a clutch at 1590 Nm at 2200 rpm in 4th on 37 inch tyres with 19 psi boost, and then the lugs flew off the tyres.
Bring on the twin plate clutch.
Cheers

Hi Joel, thanks for the back up. To those who dont know, there is a Moroso calculator out there that when you input two known amounts you can determine the 3rd. Its not 100%, but is very close.
I might have to get my shorty finished and come down to calder with you Joel. Im interested in drag racing as well. I wish I could get this engine to hold together.
