sd33td what turbo to use as a replacement

Post by taspatrol »

well there is a whole world of oil leaking out of my turbo(i would say seals are gone) and i was just wondering what turbo people have used for an upgrade i am looking for some more power.
i was thinking the t25 but a bit worried it might be a little laggy

i am running a top mount inter cooler and 3 inch from the turbo back exhaust

running35s and looking at running around 12-15 psi boost any tips or ideas would be grateful
cheers justin

Are you sure that one of the oil hoses has not split and is spewing oil everywhere? Quite common that the hoses fray.

Can I see some pics of your setup and rig?

I have an 85 SD33T SWB on 35's with a front mount and 15psi boost. Needs a big tune up though. Here's a pic:

Do you have the standard turbo on yours 84mksd? I'm about to do the same thing. Got a turbo sd33 engine without a turbo. Was gonna chuck a turbo off a 4.2 on it for some better go. Lookin at doin a few mods engine wise though. Lookin at the 12-14psi mark with a top mount

Ok so anyone got the A/R for the inlet and exhuast housings? I've been lookin everywhere but havn't been able to find actual figures. Or know what size their close to? Could end up goin a sd33 turbo if i can get away with it, just thought they'd run outta puff abit higher up after 3,000
