I've got heaps of 200 amp mosfets (about 30???), that I'd love to be able to play around with and actually use... if I had a winch. They be all sitting out on the back verandah doing nuffin but keeping the cat company.

Okay you got me..... whats a mosfet?

Effectively its a solid state solenoid. Well that's the easiest way of looking at it. The main advantage is that there are no mechanical parts in it so it wont wear out as fast or get clogged up with dirt or whatever, and has faster switching times than a solenoid.

I just bought the albright - same as above, heavy duty version here in canada - should be about 175 cdn all said and done. I think they make them from Warn as well - can't confirm that though - or maybe the same company that makes them for albright makes them for warn - Chinese??
