transfer seals

Post by shw337 »

going to install some reductions gears,
wondering if its best to replace and seal inparticular?
also are GQ and GU transfers the same (seal wise) as i have been through the bible and found the part numbers for the input, rear outpul and front output (are they are the only seals i need?), but i cant be sure if they are GQ or GU.

cheers
steve

Hi,
The numbers in the bible were from a GQ case.

Not sure about the seals being the same.....i would think they are ,because the box is the same and the reduction gear sets are the same (shaft diameter etc). I had a Gq T/Case as a spare when i put rock hoppers in my Gu and the only difference i could find with both boxes was the 4wd selector shaft on the side.
