12HT INJECTION TIMING

Post by sambo »

Got my injection timing adjusted back to factory specs now. Was at 8° is now at 11°. Huge increase in power.

Was talking to a mechanic today and he suggested trying to go a little further. Has anyone tried adjusting it to say 12° or 13°, what were the effects and was the power increased more. (i.e. tested on a dyno).

I bought it with a bent rod a few years back and reconditioned it. When reassembling the motor I just put it back in the same spots it was in before pulling it appart. I never got around to checking it. Since I had come from driving with a tired old 2H there was still a huge increase in power so I assumed it was fine. Before that not sure what the reason was.

You would get more power, but with power comes heat and emissions (smoke).

And I'm sure someone like dumdunce can explain it way better than I could.
