Funny you say that as I have been woundering that myself over the last week or 2. I think on mine they would be, if not I could very easily mod the lever on the caliper so it gets more leverage.
Next time we go out I sound just unbolt the rear tail shaft and try it

Hilux rear disc brake - AGAIN

Why would you use the cable brake as the cutting brakes?? Go hydraulic cutting brakes.
Here is the master cylinder I might use.
Has both threaded fittings. One single flare and one double flare.

Because its already there, I think it is so much easier, no more extra brake lines / fluid / fluid reservoir just a couple of cables, cheap and easy to home fab and adjust. And its a whole seperate system to your normal brakes. I will be trying mine this way. But still let us know how you go, I could be wrong.Willy Hilux wrote:Why would you use the cable brake as the cutting brakes??

If you didn't want another stick you could get a line lock kit and run it in the rear line if the handbrake holds like it should it won't be a drama. another way would be fit a tap for the rear brake line in the cab somewhere, Brakes on, close tap so it holds pressure to the rear then open tap so it relases pressure when your done one other benifit of doing it with a tap is you can totaly cut out the rear brakes if you nedd to line lock it for some reason.
plenty of parts on the bench
