Currently in the process of building a roll cage for my sierra, have built and installed the main roll bar behind the seats, It is only bolted to the wheel arches by a plate on top of the wheel arch and a plate underneath in the wheel arch...
it seems pretty strong. There are going to be 2 bars connected to the top corners of the main roll bar that will travel back towards the tail gate... I could just bolt these to the shell also but i'm wondering if it's worth the effort cutting holes and bolting them to the chassis?
Any ideas?

roll cage question
http://www.ccda4wd.com.au/ These guys have some specs and info you can download off the web on the front page. Gives a good guide on "comp spec" cages, and you can apply that info to a recreational cage.
