need to ge tmy vehicle road worthied but wondering if ill get picked for the rock sliders welded to the chassis.any one know for sure about the rules in QLD.ill cut them off to get passed if need be then put them back on but it would be great leaving them on.............cheers

if you can try not to weld straight down or across, if you get me, try on a 30 to 45° angle, engineers prefer it that way. and neatness.....that goes a long way...

we built a chassis from scratch and it passed. the rule states that nothing thicker than 2x the chassis thickness can be welded to another member.
that aside there are rules / code of practice for trucks which are higher order than cars and they allow for chassis welding.
you can get a truck mod plate fitted to a car / 4x4- providing it is to spec.
there are way around everything should they be picky on the roady

Make sure the welds are spot on welds...... shitty welds will attract a good going over !

Keep the welds well away from factory cut edges & bends ( pressed sections included ).
These areas are allready stressed and welding will further weaken that area.... a big NO NO !!
There's lots of other determining factors involved...... pity you didnt bolt em on hey !!
