wanting a 4 door vitara

Post by gumtree »

i want to get a 4 door (1.6 efi) as a daily and camper instead of my 2 door as i can fit more gear in. do they differ much offroad performance wise from a 2 door. i plan 2 do:

2 or 3 inch sus lift straight up: whats recomended?

coil spacers 30mm: is it legal/safe?

30 inch tyres: any cutting needed to run them?

maybe rear air locker

im planing not to do a body lift as there is a lot of work in lifting transfer and gearboxes etc, instead hopefull the coil spacers and springs will be enough. what have other found.

thanks in advanced.

ps. i put a ad up in the wanted section so if someone has one that meets the specs(prefer stock as i know its not flogged offroad) then let me know.

why do u need to lift the gearbox and transfers for a body lift. i'd keep it ome and body lift, that way your front end will be half reliable. and yes i do have a lifted 4 door vit.

i thought they had to be lifted to suit the body lift. how hard of a job is it to do a proper bodylift? so u would not recomend the spacers? r they legal? r u selling yours?

anything more than a 2" lift in qld will not be legal. any tires bigger than 15mm from stock is illegal. you should be able to fit the 30s in fine with just a 2" liftt.

you are more likely to be pulled up driving a skyline or something fast then a zook.
