Front or rear diff-lock
Hey Hey....wanna put a diff-lock on the '98Prado... It has a rear LSD... Need opinions on weather to go f'ward or Aft ?....

front locker
Front always the front...
Unless you want to do burnouts..
Locker on the front will allways pull you over, & you have the LSD in the back....

Just want to play...........
The front first......... My theory is that when crawling up an obstacle most of the weight of the vehicle will be on the rear wheels, giving more traction. The front end will be lighter hence more likely to lose traction.RedRat wrote:Go the rear, that's where most of your drive comes from when you're crawling up an obstacle.
Whichever way you go the ability of your 4wd will improve dramatically, so enjoy!

locker
I replaced the lsd rear in my lux with an ARB because the LC lsd's are shite and my front end articulates heaps better than the rear. Although the front locker was fitted not long after.
