dont waste your time, the centre housing is cast iron and dont bother welding anything to that as it wont work, but you can increase the tube diameter but you will be putting alot more stress on your piddly cast centre again. you will be better of upgrading diffs.

You can build a truss to connect the 2 axle tubes. Commonly done in the US.

However, I wouldn't waste my time modding a D30. Would upgrade to a D44(+)/9"/toyota/nissan axle.

Agreed.

You are sounding like money is not of great concern, so upgrade to a stronger diff to start with, then go nuts.

Thanks Boys for the advise but i have this stupid dana 30 for Jeep JK wrangler which has all the ABS & ESP shit on these axles.

The dana 44 has the same tube diameter as Dana 30 only the pumkin is bigger

I already have ARB locker in it with chromoly shafts and arb comp diff cover

never had any experience on diff buidling so any more advise would be much appreciated who is the best in melbourne who can truss weld this stuff

You can't polish a turd. You can roll it in glitter, but it will still smell like a turd. Cut your losses:

These are a bolt in an will replace all your ESP/ABS stuff. They're cheap, better geared, already have lockers and bolt in.

Just my 2C.

You could try Matt from Total Traction in Moorabbin to truss your diff.

What the G-man said.

The "pumpkin" size is the main issue. If you use it hard offroad with any decent tyre size you will be breaking ring and pinions, and wishing you had gone D44.

From memory, my 660cc sierra has a bigger ring gear than a D30.
