i have put a carby off a 96 model on my 85 but the plug for the idle is 3 pin
and the car has a single pin plug and with out this it will not idle
dose any one know how to get around this

cut the green wire from the side switch.
the white with strip goes to earth
the black connects to the power wire from the vehicle.
from memory i think that is correct, seems backward norm black is earth but almost positive thats the way it goes

at the carby of the old engine where the 1 idle lead went in, unscrew the sensor thing that it connects to on the side of the carb, and swap it with the one out of the new carby... That's what i did!
