Actually, three teams finished.....I think the DNF time was thrown out the window.

1st. Coops 1:40
2nd. Benny 2:00
3rd. Sharpy 2:40
(don't know the actual times but that's about it...)

Coops said that he lost count of the winches that were undertaken, but made a guess at maybe 15 or 16.......

Most of the DNF's were for things like, broken freespools, overheating (radiator/mud), .............the sort of thing that can be overcome when the stages are shorter and there is time to repair between starts. This was one massive long stage with heaps of deep mud and long steep winch hills.

Looking forward to next year when this may become an anual event :D

Big thanks to Mike for his time setting up and running the bootcamp.

Yesterday was certainly interesting in the rain, enjoyed today much better though, driving that hill was good fun.

The weekend highlited a lot of items that need fine tuning on Jasons truck, for us this was what the weekend was more about.

O, that 6Ltre rocks.
Joe.

Tim, Robbie from Broken Hill, and myself traveled from SA and enjoyed the hospitality of Coops at his great pad on Friday night. Although I believe the dog got well fed throughout the night and someone tumbled over the deck in the wee hours of the morning.

A special thank you to Leon and Steven for running the Marshall training course. It was informative and interesting. Doing the practical with the Boot Camp boys the next day was well worth it. Having ex competitiors present certainly would have provided a different perspective to the interpretation of the rules. Come to think we ex competitors did'nt know the rules very well. Watch out competitors we have been promoted to the red coat brigade.

Thanks to Leon, Mike and Dareen for organising a great weekend, it was well worth the trip from Adelaide. Looking forward to the next SSS next year. Gary

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys.

a second SSS has been discussed and will happen again!!!

the only complaints i got from the weekend was that people were disspointed in themselves that they didnt get to finish the stage.

Big thanks to the people that turned up and helped us make a great weekend of it!!

Very good point darren. Looking at the incab footage, i think you hit us harder than we hit the tree. O well just gives me an excuse to gate the front end.
