weber 32/36 wont rev out

Post by nathandi7 »

HA
I have a sierra with a 32/36 weber and extractors. Carbi ran fine for 12 months but now wont rev out. Have cleaned out carbi didnt help. Im fairly sure it is the carbi as I have changed the coil, leads, plugs, dizzy, pretty much everything bar the carbi. It revs out fine at 3/4 throttle but as soon as you put your foot flat it dies in the arse. feels like it is flooding maybe.

Im fresh out of ideas and would appreciate any help

ps just fitted a lock right, awsome in the ruff stuff.

use a Sierra carby and see if that works if it does then your weber isn't working properly. Has it been properly setup as they are notorious as not very good for offroad use

So it use to run fine but now it has probs?
Did you mess with anything before it "wouldnt rev out"?
If you didnt touch anything before this happened it could only be lack of air/fuel so which one and why?
#/4 throttle would be about when the secondaries open is the secondary main jet or secondary air jet blocked?
Not being a search nazi but have you read through the "weber" threads on here there is some good tech (and alot of crap)
Another thing is the fuel supply mighten be keeping up to the carb at w.o.t. what fuel pump are you running and how do you control pressure/flow rate?
I use the bypass method and it works great for me keeps 1.5psi at carb but maximum flow to allow for when you put your foot into it.
Im running the 38 syncro though more power
Have you had the carb tuned to your engine? What jets are you running and hows the burn on the plugs?

check to see if your catalitic converter or exhaust system is blocked, this would cause power loss at high revs

Thanks for the advice
I think the air flow is spot on. I took it out today with the air filter off and it revved out. I run the origional air filter with an adapter plate that I fabed up. I re connected it and dis connected the pipework at the base of the air filter and it still revved out ok. I didnt notice a change when I first connected it up probably becaue the redline air filter was pretty shagged.
Cheers
