2" suspension lift on hilux

Post by flak »

Have recently done a 2" suspension lift on my '93 dual cab hilux, I replaced the shocks, leaf springs, bushes and greasable shackles and pins. The front drivers side is now lower then the passenger side, by 30mm (which is producing a noticable lean in the rear ) It was suggested that the torque rod maybe pulling the front down, so removed that but it made no improvement. Have heard that there is a left and right spring for the front.. is this true? I am running out of things that maybe causing this, if anyone could help with any further info/suggestions that would be great! :)

On OME leaves, the driver's side is 20mm taller. If your leaves are marked DS and PS, then you probably need to swap them. If your leaves are the same, then you may need to make a shim to fit across the perch under the pack on the low side.

the driver and passenger side front springs are different, in most cases the drivers side spring is taller to compensate for the extra weight of the fuel tank and other little bits and pieces that are on the hilux.

depends on how long you have had them in there for, mine sagged about that amount after 6months due to the battery/ fuel tank/ driver all being on the same side...

This is very common...

If you have jst installed them and they are 30mm lower then you have left and right mixed up... (should be printed on top of spring)
or the springs are defect

The reason why the drivers side comes with taller springs on the drivers side is to try to fix the problem of the sag (as i have said above)
