tbi injection with turbo

Ive just ordered a tbi injection kit for my g13a as im sick of the standard carby playing up everytime i take it offroad.What id like to know would this kit be compatable with a low boost turbo setup as i have a turbo from a diahastu charade and would like a little more power for maintaining speed uphill and against headwinds

should be ok but you might have to replace the original injector with a higher flow rate one

where did you order your "kit" from?

I'm about to go and strip everything required for a TBI conversion off a Swift and Barina, that way i will have two of everything, so if i make a mess of one, i have a back up...

I think you'll find the tbi setup will make it more responsive, which may help maintaining speed ect...

I orded the kit from the suzukishop in cannington $495 including gst but you have to make your own adaptor for the throttle body to manifold

Mark (mud4b) ran the swift TBI setup with a toyota sc12 supercharger, he used a turbo surf MAP sensor. PM him for more details, but as far as i know it ran fine on the old MUD4B. I have been looking into running some boost through my setup. I have the 1.6TBI setup on my 1.3L, but running an aftermarket Haltech computer. How much boost you can run will depend on injector flow rate, motor strength (and compression etc) and tuning. If you only looking to run a few PSI it may be fine. Check your injector flow rates etc.

are you sure it was a sc12? i had a feeling it was an amr300.

be nice to hear from mark if that is how he had his set up. i am planning on using a turbo on my current build ( jimny head and injection on a vit bottom end) but was getting a bit discurraged by the map sensor, being that most forced induction cars that run properly, that i have taken any notice of have had air flow meters.
i'll watch this place with interest.

It may have been, my memory isnt that good :oops: A quick search reveals that it had an aisan supercharder (from his build thread).

Forced injection works fine with map sensors.

sorry got on here a little late...

any questions unanswered? i remember most things about it.. i know it ran like a bucket until i got the surf boost map sensor.. i still have it somewhere too.

were you running the aisin amr 300 charger. Did you change pulley sizes at all? What boost was it running? Where did you get your map sensor from and how much were they asking. Care to get rid of it? Was it loud, i have just put one on my jimny motor, and without piping it whines like a whore with her toes stepped on, like really loud.

it was the amr300, i didn't change pulley sizes until i went mental (was using the std blower size and a jimny / coily front double pulley at the start) and it was running 9 psi. i got the map sensor from a mate, wreckers would not charge much for one. its off a 2.8? something surf td from memory the signal wire was opposite to the supply wire compared to a std map from the suzuki, but these are measurable to work out what is what... mine was very loud as you have found out, it did not get much quieter either when plumbed in. i take it your running the std airbox, upgrade to a uni filter or k&n and it does make a huge difference in power and smoothness.
