Basically, you need to talk to a mechanical engineer, preferably before you do the work, they detail up some plans then send them to DOT for approval. If approved, they will send you the paperwork of approval.
If its work that been done and needs approval, i guess you go see a mechanical engineer, tell them what you have done and what material you used, they will want to look at the truck as well, they will detail up what has been done and send it away. Hopefully it will come back approved, if not, you will have to get some work done to fix it.
