Is there any difference between an hj and fj 45 chassis?

crossmember's are different...
mounts are different.
but you can " interchange" them with some mods.

just finished putting a petrol motor in a hJ chassis.96hilux wrote:Thanks Guys
I have a hj45 with a rusty chassis and have only been able to find fj chassis thinking the tray and body mounts would be the same, just more worried about the motor and gearbox mounts, would thay be that hard to change if thay are different?
motor mounts are fine, use your rubber mounts from your chassis, and you'll be sweet.
the drivers side gearbox mount is the biggest issue. but all it takes is cutting off the petrol mount, and drilling holes to suit the mount (unboltable on the HJ45 chassis) off yours. passenger side, they both sit on the chassis,so just use the rubber mounts off of your chassis...
another consideration is be prepared to rework the fuel lines, as the 2f and the H have er... slightly different setups
