troopy stability
I have just purchased a 94 75 series rv troopy and was just curious to how stable they are? Im use to playing in my 4runner which has a low centre of gravity and can go on some interestin cambers. The troopy corners on the black top heaps better the the 4runner ( less body roll ) But because of the height of the roof I was just wondering how easy it is to trip one over when playing off road?
Jabber gone. Now have 98 nissan terrano and a 94 4.2ldiesel rv troopy on 33s slowly getting the fancy bits. How the hell do I change my user name?

Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set

Only problem I've had is hitting sh!t. Like those beams at carparks. And when you're going along single trails, watch out for those short branches that you don't notice til it's too late.

Haha, I had already seen the youtube footage but dint let it stick in my mind as they were modidied, with exceptions of the poor prick who tumbled down that hill.
I took the troopy off road today and LOVED IT!!!! those 4.2l diesels have masses of balls in low range when you need it and sure enough as the last post sais all the weight is down low in the vehile so when I took it off camber it really felt fine ( allthough it wasnt verry challengeing where I went ) butttt for where I was it did go better than I expected and I am so far more than happy with getting a troopy

yeah they're not too bad. Mine will lift a wheel over some rocks if I don't keep my eye on it.
When you replace springs just make sure you get something suitable, i put new springs on the front and they hardly flex at all but im hoping they will soften up a bit. Rear is soft as and flexes nicely but the 33's scrub.

I regularly take my stock height 40 over to around the 45 degree mark.. The rule of thumb that I apply is that when an imaginery vertical line that intersects with the gear stick at the floor goes outside the wheel track its time to be careful.. Youll chicken out before the bus does.. IMO the COG of a cruiser is better than that of a hilux type vehicle..
